Ground Yourself Through Connecting With Your Tenth Chakra

These last few weeks I’ve found myself busy with the chaotic, sometimes fun, sometimes exhausting, aspects of life.  In between photo shoots and editing for my photography business, my daughter and husband’s birthdays and parties, and wrangling two kids who are hyper about Summer around the corner – I’ve been feeling drained.  Sound familiar?

When life gets busy, it’s more important than ever to carve out time for yourself.  It’s not always easy or convenient, but I remind myself that if I don’t care for myself, nobody else will do it for me.  I find I need at least 30 minutes a day to slow down and meditate or I notice the affects in all areas of my life.  By not taking enough time to center and ground myself, I tend to get tired and annoyed more easily.  Too much into my human side and not enough into my Divine Self.  Like all things, there needs to be balance.

Is the busyness of life getting to you?  Or are you lacking motivation?
Are you feeling any of these symptoms of being ungrounded?
-headache or migraine
-feeling of slight dizziness/off balance
-detachment from your body
-shallow breathing
-racing thoughts
-focus on past and future events

I notice I’m “out of my body” and detached when I find I’m taking shallow breaths or even holding my breath at moments throughout the day without being aware of it.  This seems a small thing, but the breath is really what keeps us centered and grounded, as well as physically healthy.  When you allow yourself to become too consumed with “to do” then you lose your attachment to your body and become ungrounded.  The body can react with exhaustion, or illness, in order to force you to slow down.

The chakra most people think of related to grounding is the first chakra, the root chakra, at the base of the spine.  However, I’m going to focus on a slightly less familiar one: the 10th chakra, located about 1.5-4 feet under our feet.  After starting my journey with mediation and energy work, I found working with this chakra to be very transformative. By focusing, clearing, and working with the 10th chakra, I became more spiritually awakened, centered, and connected to my Divine Self.

The 10th chakra holds energy we bring into the world when we’re born: ancestral energy, past life experiences, genetics, family issues, etc. It provides us with our daily life energy (masculine and feminine), energy cleansing, nurturing, as well as the ability to receive elements of nature – fire, earth, water, and air – into our entire energy system.

In The Complete Book of Chakra Clearing, Cyndi Dale states that “a completely functioning tenth chakra enables us to say that ‘I am feeling, thinking, and lovingly expressing my vision of divine purpose in a timely manner while creating all that I am in a grounded, practical way.’”

Symptoms of a blocked 10th chakra include:
-lack of connection to your higher, spiritual self
-weight issues
-avoidance issues (feeling “out to lunch” and spacey)
-disassociation
-ankle, foot, leg, or knee pain
-lack of motivation
-difficulty manifesting change, growth, and dreams into your everyday life

The 10th chakra is activated in us before we’re even born.  This is why so much of our past life, family, and ancestral energy are tied up in it.  It is the energy we draw upon to deal with what we experience during this lifetime.  This energy shapes our physical body and also ties us to the Earthly plane (so that we aren’t just a ball of spiritual light floating around!)

If you have lingering thoughts of not deserving something in life, lacking direction, feeling airy or detached from your life and/or body, then be sure to work with opening, clearing, and drawing on the energy of your 10th chakra.

This energy is vital in dealing with everyday life, tackling fears, overcoming “victim” energy and most importantly – embracing and living the spiritual side of life that calls to each of us. Not religion necessarily – but spirituality; an awareness and feeling of knowing – that you’re more than your body.

Without awareness and grounding into the 10th chakra, Dale states:
“Instead of drawing upon our tenth chakra’s hidden power and wisdom, we instead stuff it with negative feelings and experiences, closing the channels even further.  This can result in repressed memories, dissociation, lack of personal power, low energy, or abusive relationships.  We can only be our true selves if we completely open this channel”.

Ground yourself in this vital energy!

This is very simple to do:

  • Sit or stand (take it further and stand barefoot in the grass) and envision roots growing out of the bottom of your feet
  • Imagine streams/roots of bright light traveling out of your feet, down into your 10th chakra, then further down through all the layers of Earth, until it reaches the very center of the Earth
  • Tell yourself and feel yourself grounding your whole body into the Earth
  • Now imagine gathering streams of energy from the center of the Earth, which then travel back up through the ground and connect into and clear your 10th chakra below your feet
  • Guide the light up into your feet; allow it to continue up your body, up your legs, your spine, and up out the top of your head
  • Take a few deep breaths – being aware of your whole body

Remember – your intentions affect your energy.  By imagining the above exercise, you’re guiding your energy to clear and ground.  It will listen and follow your lead.

By doing a quick grounding visualization like this, I immediately feel more present in my body and full of life energy.  I often envision roots coming out of my feet when I’m on a walk or run.  I also work with the 10th chakra while doing energy work on others. When working with high vibrational energy either during my own mediation or during a healing on a client, it’s important to ground that energy fully into the body, the 10th chakra, and the center of the Earth.  High vibrational energy is transformative and healing, yet you don’t want to feel spacey.  You want to draw upon the energy, while being able to use it in productive ways in your everyday life, feeling secure and fully present in your body.

Happy Grounding!

Make A Simple Energy Routine A Daily Practice

Like most people, I find it challenging some days to carve out time to exercise.  When I do have time I tend to stick to the classic run or walk and possibly some quick yoga.  While cardio has it’s obvious benefits, sometimes we just need a little jumpstart to our energy system that doesn’t require a lot of heavy lifting.  Something that quickly and effectively reconnects us with our body.

When life is busy and we defer to autopilot mode, it’s easy to become disconnected from our body and allow the mind to fully take over.  This can cause energy blocks and a feeling of being ungrounded and out of control.  Our bodies and Divine Self long for us to stop, breathe, and reconnect to the present moment.  To feel the energy coursing through our body.  This is where real healing can happen.

I’ve found that you don’t need a ton of time to get your energy balanced and start your day off feeling present and grounded.  Below is a short video by Donna Eden, a knowledgeable and well known energy medicine teacher.  This is a short energy routine that I like to do either first thing in the morning and/or as a pick-me-up for the late afternoon energy slump.  The first several times I had to use the video, but after a week or so it’s easy to memorize the moves so you can do them on your own – anytime.  My daughter found this video hilarious and tried some moves too.  She’s 3.  If she can do it so can you!

Take note of how you feel before the video and how you feel after.  It’s amazing what a few easy moves can do to get your energy flowing.  Enjoy!

How Is The Energy of 2017 Influencing You?

Whether you’re aware of it or not, our bodies are shifting in frequency and letting in more high vibrational energy.  You can find oodles of articles by energy/light workers, astrologers, intuitives, and the like, that describe how we’re evolving.  In my post on Shadow Energy, I explained that as our vibration is rising, this causes low vibrational energy patterns to come to the surface so they can be healed for good.  Repressed feelings, past experiences and traumas, and old behavior patterns that no longer serve us are showing up so we can release them. They simply do not want to exist, and really cannot exist, as our frequency and vibration rises.

This can be a draining process.  Look around you and notice all the people in the thick of change.  2016 was an especially impactful and intense year as this energy shift forced people to address old energy patterns. As a society we were faced with this during the election process and all the deeply held beliefs and issues it brought to light.  The 2017 energy is calmer (higher in vibration) and the energy is pushing us to open up further, take action, and embrace our full potential. The energy this year is less about bringing up and hashing out the past (as we did last year) and more about how to move forward and follow your passion. For those unaware of what’s going on this can be confusing and frustrating.  Yet your higher self knows how to handle it and further open your heart.  It’s your human side that might be holding you back.

Each person gets to choose how they handle their energy.  You can choose to be aware and allow and welcome growth and great transformation.  Or you could go on with your life the same as you always have.  Which is just fine too.  There are no judgements and really no timeline that applies to everyone.

With these energy shifts I’m noticing an increase in people longing for more insight, healing and meaning in their life.  That’s what this high vibrational energy is inviting us to do – it is really a gift.  People are waking up either through a trauma such as a loved one passing away, illness, or job loss – or through an intense experience such as a birth, move, or travel.  And it’s up to each person to act or not act.  To invite in more meaning in their life or not.  When you feel a glimpse into something larger within and “out there” (your Divine Self knocking) it’s your choice if you open the door or shut it.

I write a lot about being aware of your thoughts as they arise with this new energy.  This allows you to take yourself out of any lingering victim energy that’s stuck in you.  For instance, it’s about letting go of thoughts such as:  I’m always stuck in a job that doesn’t value my contributions.  I will never make enough money.  My spouse always disrespects me.

These type of thoughts take control away from you and reinforce the illusion of you as a victim of your life.  The Universe is nudging us to put our Divine Self in the driver seat.

By simply being aware and asking, you’re sending the message to your Divine Self, Spirit Guides, and the Universe that you are opening up.  You’re ready for insights. You’re ready to stop being reactive to life and instead be a master of your life. You’re open for business!

As you do so, you realize that in the end it’s not about whatever “thing” is bothering you. It’s not about the other person.  Or the job, or the money, or the illness even.   Everything we experience is a reflection of what’s going on somewhere inside us.  Someone making you angry?  Look within yourself.  How does your heart (chakra) feel when you are still?  What are you to learn and what change can you make, if needed?

Your Spirit Guides and Divine Self will always guide you to love.  Forgive yourself for anything you’ve done in the past.  Forgive what someone has “done” to you. If forgiving them is too hard at the moment, try accepting it “as is” for now.  Lose the attachment.  By doing so, you clear that old energy from your aura.  Then what do you fill that space with?  Thoughts and feelings of what you really want in life.  You gain new energy to take action and move forward.

Amazingly, some people take comfort in old energy that makes them feel awful.  The familiarity is soothing even in the worst of times.   It can be scary to take a look at what isn’t serving you in life if you’re feeling overwhelmed, unhappy, or in over your head.

However, it doesn’t have to be hard!  Maybe uncomfortable for a bit, but never a struggle when you work with the higher energies of the Universe or spiritual realm.

You are creating every day.  Don’t limit yourself to what you were years ago, or last month, or even yesterday.

It’s a great time to be outside and soak up these healing vibrational energies.  As you do so, simply acknowledge the idea that you are more than your body here on Earth.  You will feel yourself supported if you simply ask.

Because – if you look to take comfort in the predictability of any old, low vibrational energy patterns that do not flow with what you desire – they’ll likely be more than willing to stick around.  It’s not always easy to embrace a new view on life, but if you simply invite in guidance and allow it to flow in, you will feel grounded in this new energy and ready to move forward knowing you’re supported and fearless.

Nicki
